To ensure optimal performance and a seamless learning experience, follow our straightforward instructions for clearing your web browser application storage and executing an empty cache and hard reload. This quick guide will help you troubleshoot common issues and keep your study sessions running smoothly.

For Google Chrome

On Mac and Windows

Clearing Application Storage

1) Open Chrome.

2) Press Cmd + Option + I (on Mac) or Ctrl + Shift + I (on Windows) to open Developer Tools.

3) Click on the ‘Application’ tab.

4) In the left-hand menu, click on ‘Clear storage’.

5) In the ‘Clear storage’ pane, check all the boxes (Local Storage, Session Storage, IndexedDB, etc.).

6) Ensure the checkbox for ‘Clear cookies and site data’ is marked.

7) Make sure the checkbox for ‘Clear third-party cookies’ is also marked.

8) Click the ‘Clear site data’ button.

Executing Empty Cache and Hard Reload

9) Open Chrome.

10) Open Developer Tools by pressing Cmd + Option + I (on Mac) or Ctrl + Shift + I (on Windows).

11) Right-click the refresh button (or hold down the refresh button if using a trackpad).

12) Select ‘Empty Cache and Hard Reload’ from the context menu.

For Safari

On Mac

Clearing Application Storage

1) Open Safari.

2) Go to Safari > Preferences or press Cmd + ,

3) Go to the ‘Privacy’ tab.

4) Click on ‘Manage Website Data’.

5) Select the websites you want to remove data for and click ‘Remove’ or ‘Remove All’.

6) Ensure that ‘Remove all cookies’ includes third-party cookies as well.

7) Open Safari

8) Enable the Develop menu if it’s not already enabled by going to Safari > Preferences > Advanced and checking the box ‘Show features for web developers’  This will add a new menu item or tab in Safari called “Develop.”

9) Go to the now visible “Develop” tab in the menu bar.  If you do not see the “Develop” tab here, then repeat step 20.

10) Select ‘Empty Caches’.

11) Hold down the Shift key and click the Reload button.

2) Press Cmd + Option + I (on Mac) or Ctrl + Shift + I (on Windows) to open Developer Tools.

3) Click on the ‘Application’ tab.

4) In the left-hand menu, click on ‘Clear storage’.

5) In the ‘Clear storage’ pane, check all the boxes (Local Storage, Session Storage, IndexedDB, etc.).
