What is a denial-of-service attack?

A denial-of-service attack is a cyber attack in which the hacker tries to render the machine or network complete unavailable or inaccessible to users by temporarily or indefinitely disrupting their connection to to the internet.

There are many ways to deliver this attack, but the most common way is to flood the company’s systems with requests to overload the system. This will cause legitimate requests from being served by the server.
