What technology skills should I learn as a student entering the accounting profession?
While technology has been around for a number of years, the accounting profession is currently experiencing a huge ramp in the use of technology to perform recurring accounting and audit tasks. Most accounting/audit firms are looking to hire employees that have a background in accounting but also have a solid understanding of technology and how to use certain tools like Alteryx, Tableau, and Power BI.
Any college student or individual that is new to the accounting profession should upskill their understanding of these tools by watching YouTube videos, completing trainings on Udemy or Udacity, or any other coding/programming bootcamps.
